The sun was just beginning its slow descent behind the hills when Keiko Corner made her way down to the lake, parchment, Transfiguration textbook, and quill clutched in her hand. It was getting to be a bit cold, and the Ravenclaw girl pulled the collar of her dark green jacket up over her neck to keep out the chill wind. At the moment, she was wearing Muggle clothing, as she often did on weekends. Sometimes their attire seemed much more comfortable. Seeing that she was the only one going to hang out at the lake at this time of night, Keiko sat down on the banks of the lake in the grass, so that her legs were dangling right over the still, black water. She could see the ripples farther out on the lake from the basking of the giant squid, which she had seen several times before when here alone. Perching her piece of parchment on her knee, Keiko immediately began to scribble away at her Transfiguration essay. Why Professor McGonagall just had to assign one every night was a mystery to her. They weren't that hard, but they were a nuisance, especially when she would much rather be doing other things, such as playing Quidditch, or talking with her friends. At the moment, she wasn't sure where they were, though. Keiko was nearly halfway finished with her essay when she heard foosteps behind her. Startled at the sound after a quarter of an hour of silence, she gave a little jump. She set her quill down and twisted around to see what other student would be coming down to the lake at this time of night. [Heh, I stole most of that from an old post of mine... ]

Honestly, Ava had no idea why she was coming down to the Lake so late in the day. Most of the other Ravenclaws were inside, either working on their homework or gossiping by the fire, which had been enchanted to appear blue by the Ravenclaw Head of House. For a while, the flames had put Ava under some kind of spell, and her attention had been won over. But after less than ten minutes, she grew tired of the dancing and flickering lights, and without saying a word to anyone else in the common room, had grabbed her favorite jacket and headed down to the lake, ignoring any warnings from the Prefects that roamed the halls.
Ava had decided to wander near the lake, where she guessed no one else would be. But the air was rather chilly, and she couldn’t help but pull the waterproof muggle fabric closer to her petite frame as she neared the water, wondering where her three best friends were. Leslie was probably off in her own common room, flirting with Chase Peakes - the latest boy to catch her attention. Bianca was probably deciding what to wear for the next day or chatting with people somewhere in the castle. And Keiko? Ava guessed she was working on homework of some sort.
At first, Ava didn’t notice the hunched-over figure by the lake. She was too busy being off in her own little world, wondering why she and Brody Finnigan argued so much. The question always seemed to elude her; not even the smart-aleck Ava Callahan could come up with an answer for why they fought all the time. And usually, she didn’t mind telling him off or slapping him in the face. But lately, it had been harder and harder to concentrate on simply insulting him and walking away. Could she possibly be attracted to her biggest rival? Nahh…
Finally, Ava spotted the girl by the lake, obviously working on something. As she got closer and closer, Ava realized it was Keiko Corner herself. “Hey!” she said cheerfully, tapping her friend on the shoulder before sitting down next to her. Flipping off her boots, Ava allowed her own legs to sink into the cool, murky water as she smiled at her friend. “Homework?” she asked knowingly, watching Keiko scribble onto a piece of parchment. Typical Keiko - doing homework while Ava was doing absolutely nothing. At least everything was normal in that sense.
[haha, I do that all the time. ;] ]

Ivan and her had been hanging out for the past few days and when he left she often went to the Black Lake. True, the lake didn't look very clear but the scenery was beautiful. She hadn't quite made it yet, looking around the day was turning to night and it seemed breezy but somehow she didn't feel that cold. Wearing a cashmere coat from a muggle shop in America called Betsey Johnson, she walked alone in the hazy day. She kept whispering under her breath a riddle her father had told her was from a Historic Book that had been preserved by his mother in times.
Approaching the lake she closed her eyes letting the frosty wind fly through and toward her face. Anca had heard whispers floating by, near a tree nearby. She wasn't really concentrated on that but on herself which she rarely did, actually. Was Ivan for real or was he being weird and wonky again. She had got her feelings hurt once before but she never turned back. He was a Gryffindor and well smart too. Being son of Victor Krum famous Quidditch probably was hard, so she didn't think about that much. She was probably just stressed but she hoped to find somebody to talk to down by the lake.
The wind was getting colder, feeling it now as breezy. Bianca roamed around the place when she saw two shadows. If her parents saw the two they would go mad. She giggled softly, walking towards the figures. The tree was extremely tall in this part of the Lake so she glared at it for a moment as they looked different in the slightly dark part of day. She was around 5 metres away from the people walking as quickly as possible to get there.
"Hey, Ava. Hey Keiko!" she exclaimed brightly when she reached them. Both were fellow Ravenclaws, but she was really thinking hard about why they were both there. Looking at the two she saw Keiko with a Transfiguration Assignment that Professor McGonagall gave appoint them. She had finished at least half of it so she needn't worry. Indeed she saw Ava was there to wearing a cute favourite of Ava's from her closet. "Looking Good, Ladies!" she giggled with a huge grin.
